Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1. Define and correctly use anatomical and physiological terminology;
2. Recognise and describe the macroscopic and microscopic structure of the following body systems: cells and connective tissue, skeletal (bone tissue and ossification), muscular, nervous, and special senses;
3. Explain and interpret how the above systems function and interact with each other and the rest of the body to maintain homeostasis;
4. Identify bony landmarks, ligaments, tendons, muscles and blood supply of the lower limb, pelvic girdle, trunk, head, neck, upper limb and pectoral girdle; and
5. List actions elicited by muscles at the joints in the lower limb, pelvic girdle, trunk, neck, upper limb and pectoral girdle.

Missed or Deferred Lab Exams:
As stated in University Policy, students must request approval from the Unit Convenor to sit a deferred examination. Students must apply for an extension within a reasonable timeframe (usually within 3 days of the missed assessment) and must include the relevant documentary evidence according to the category of extenuating circumstance under which they are applying (i.e., a medical certitificate, death notice).
Students are not permitted to defer a deferred exam. A student who does not attempt a deferred exam will receive a grade of zero for the assessment task.

Learner engagement
The laboratory classes for this unit are not compulsory and marks are not given for attendance. However, the content covered in these classes will form a large part of the assessments and engagement in these classes is highly recommended.
